 Celtic Frost foi uma banda da Suíça formada em 1984. É considerada uma das bandas pioneiras do Black metal, assim como Hellhammer e Venom. Eles são conhecidos por influenciar fortemente os gêneros do metal extremo. O primeiro período da banda foi entre 1984 e 1993, depois sendo reformada em 2001 quando Tom Gabriel Fischer terminou seu projeto Apollyon Sun. Mas em 2008 a banda acabou novamente após a saída de Tom. O som do grupo foi inspirado em bandas de Heavy metal como Black Sabbath, Judas Priest e Venom.
